What is a Diamond Certificate?

A diamond certificate (or diamond grading report) is a document which accompanies your diamond to specify its quality.The diamond is evaluated, measured and scrutinised by highly trained professionals to provide a detailed overview of its characteristics. Diamonds graded by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) are analysed using the finest quality equipment, including: a microscope, jewellers loupe and other specialised equipment. 

Why Does a Diamond Need a Certificate?

Not all diamonds are certified, however it is important that you consider buying a certified diamond when making a diamond purchase. A certificate will give you peace of mind that your diamond is precisely graded without any bias. Of course most diamonds have some kind inclusions or flaws so it is important that you know exactly what you are buying before making a purchase. 

Why GIA?

At Hyde Park Design we only supply diamonds which have been analysed and graded by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). This is the most honored gemological grading laboratory, which is respected for its consistency in grading making them the most highly valued laboratory in the industry. 

Furthermore, we use the GIA, as we feel it is extremely important for you to have a clear understanding of the diamond you are buying.
